Join us for Winter Wassailing in partnership with Ashland School of Uncovering the Voice. Folk traditions like Wassailing were born out of a time when all people sang as part of daily life. We invite you to come experience singing in community, lifting each other up with our voices, making a joyful noise!
We will meet for 5 weeks to learn Winter, Christmas, New Year’s and traditional Wassailing songs. Each session will begin with gentle exercises to warm up our voices. All people are welcome, whether or not you think you can sing. All ages are welcome. All voices are welcome.
With music in our hearts and rhythms in our feet we will serenade the community, first in two public street events and later going door to door offering blessings of health and happiness for the New Year. We hope you can join us. Bring your family.
Participation is free.
LOCATION: ASHLAND FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 175 N. MAIN ST, ASHLAND
Attending all rehearsals is not mandatory to participate in community singing events, but attending at least 3 helps support confident participation.
